Summer Series List
G
Pathologic 3
January 9 - Now
Bought Pathologic 3 the second it released, but I got very busy and couldn't finish it until summer. I have had a change of heart. This game is simply not good. The further I get, the more everything is off. I don't think the devs played the original
G
Diablo II: Reign of the Warlock
February 16 - May 18
The new class is very fun. It's honestly better than Diablo IV's Warlock. They're both good though. It was also fun to play the Diablo II campaign again

B
The Church
April 22 - May 24
I've always known more of Jan Hus' political and revolutionary impact than his actual philosophy and criticisms on the Catholic Church, aside from its needless extravagance. He's a very snappy writer and it's a surprisingly digestible book

B
The Age of Revolution: 1789 – 1848
May 9 - May 26
I wish I read this book years ago. I think it would help me appreciate the post-Napoleonic era as I do now. The book really covers an impossibly large amount of change in only a few hundred pages and gave me as much insight as a Parenti book

B
Life of Prince Metternich
May 12 - May 25
George Bruce Malleson is pretty good at organizing historical texts and the lives of people into neat groups. I quite liked all the quotes from Metternich put in better context, especially post-1815. The way he generally writes is also quite engaging

B
Acts of Worship
May 19 - May 27
Mishima's short stories are like glimpses into the rest of his works. I love how true his books feel and he speaks about his own secrets most people wouldn't dream of sharing

B
A Game of Thrones
(Reread) May 19 -
Feels like I'm reading it for the first time. Easy ten out of ten. I feel like the more I sit with this book the more I like and understand Ned. Top ten most misunderstood characters that aren't women

S
Schitt's Creek
(Rewatch) May 1 - May 20
The show is somehow even better than I remember. It was alway good, but there's a lot more subtlety in both the acting and dialogue that was harder to notice when I was younger. Season 5 features some of the best performances I've ever seen

G
Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred
May 24 - May 26
Lord of Hatred is like a not quite as good Reaper of Souls for Diablo IV. Took a quite disappointing game and made it pretty good and fixed a lot of its issues. It also brought Lilith back and returned her to her Sin War books level of writing

S
Go For It, Nakamura!!
May 25 - June 16
First anime I've seen in like two years. The manga is very good, but the anime might actually be better. It completely redoes the pacing and chronology in a much more natural way, and its additions are well-made

B
Confessions of a Mask
(Reread) May 25 - May 27
It's a contender for my favorite book. There's really no other book that touches me as deeply as Confessions of a Mask. It's a book I think you need to actually be homosexual to get the most out of it, as it is a very personalized book
G
007: First light
May 26 - June 3
I got the early access since it's IO game. The game mechanics are a bit clunky and I do wish they went for a more Hitman approach to progression, rather than basically being Life is Strange with more gameplay

C
Batman: The Long Halloween
(Reread) June 5
It's essential Batman for a reason. One of the best Batman series ever. I really love Alberto Falcone, Gordon, Gilda, etc. even Calendar Man is great. It has a gripping overarching story, each chapter is engaging, and the art is some of the best

C
I Cannot Reach You
June 5 - Releasing
I've been on some romance kick recently. This one is very cute. It has very Modern Family-core humor at times. It also weirdly reminds me of Persona 3. No clue why. I thought I wouldn't like this after the first volume, but I was wrong

C
Batman: Urban Legends
June 5 - June 7
A lot of these are very good and I'd want an entire series released for it and others are just okay. Issue #20 has better Talia characterization than recent canon... it's legit like five pages it's crazy
B
Ivanhoe
June 14 - June 26
I've wanted to read this for ages and waited even more for this to get shipped to my book store... I actually learned about this book from the guy on the cover of Crusader Kings II. I legit couldn't stop reading I love the way Walter Scott writes

S
Gravitation
June 24 - June 25
Gravitation might be the best anime I've seen in a long time. Also the weirdest... I don't even know how to describe it. I also don't think many people would see what I see

C
Gravitation
June 25 - July 3
The only manga where the art gets worse over time. Aside from that and falling off a bit in volumes nine and ten, it's an unforgettable story that I will think about for a long time... Also there's apparently two books and a sequel...

S
Naruto
July 2 - August 8
I haven't seen Naruto since like middle school but it's a thousand times better than I remember it. Naruto fans highkey need to learn how to read though. The anime is essentially a different story from the manga

B
The Second Sex
August 12 -

S
Naruto: Shippuden
August 16 -
